First Foundation

Summary

Tertiary education is just a dream for many young New Zealanders. First Foundation helps make that dream come true for some of our most talented but financially disadvantaged young people.

First Foundation enlists the support of businesses (Partnering Organisations) to offer tertiary scholarships to students. But it's not just about money. Equally important - and key to First Foundation's excellent track record - is ensuring students are well-prepared to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Each recipient of a First Foundation scholarship receives:

  • An annual grant towards their tertiary fees
  • Paid work experience with the Partnering Organisation sponsoring them (from which students are required to contribute towards their own tertiary fees)
  • A personal mentor to advise and guide them.
