Overview
With more than 100 years of history and programme development, Big Brothers Big Sisters now operates in 50 countries and is one of the largest mentoring service for young people in the world.
In 2018 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Aotearoa (New Zealand) provided over 700 tamariki (young people) with a trained mentor through our 13 programme locations across the country.
About the mentoring
The age range we mentor is 6 to 12 years to start a match (we do support a match until the young person is 18). This is a standalone mentoring programme and the expectation is that the mentoring relationship will last 1 year to 2 years. Mentors meet with the young person weekly.
