Mahi Whakaara
Mahi Whakaara offers trade training opportunities to young people. We focus on practical hands-on learning for tauira who need an opportunity to gain a credential, opening a whole world of opportunities for them. We also assist with further learning in other kinds of courses, e.g. driver's license training, tertiary training, or returning to school and finishing their NCEA education pathways.

Overview
Mentoring and pastoral care is an extension of our overall holistic tutoring. Through the Te Ao Maori (the Maori worldview), our programmes incorporate daily karakia, te reo Maori development, cultural site visits, learning about the local history, and development of pepeha and mihimihi - all while guiding rangatahi in their learning journey.
Regions
About the mentoring
The age range we mentor is 15 to 24 years old. This is a one-to-one and group mentoring approach with the expected duration of the mentorship relationship to be less than 6 months. We have checkpoints every 3 weeks in our 12-week course.
