Mentoring Providers

The Runway Foundation

The Runway Foundation supports children and youth with a primary diagnosis of ADHD through our Kid’s Clubs and youth mentoring programmes. We also work alongside whānau by offering a Parent Support Group and access to counselling services, delivered in partnership with Unforced Rhythms by Lorelei Turner, based at the Runway House.

Overview

Our Kid’s Clubs cater to tamariki aged 6 to 11 (up to Year 7), these sessions are interactive, and fun, helping kids better understand themselves and connect with others, allowing them to thrive with ADHD.

Our Youth Mentoring Programme supports rangatahi from Year 8 through to Year 13 (or until they finish school). We also offer group-based activities that are designed to challenge, inspire, and develop them in a safe and supportive environment.

Across both programmes, our goals are to:

  • Improve social skills and self-management behaviours

  • Foster a greater sense of belonging, boosting self-esteem and confidence

  • Provide opportunities for personal growth and skill development

  • Celebrate individual achievements and strengths, creating a positive and empowering environment

About the mentoring

Our Kid’s Clubs provides small group sessions focused on building practical skills and strategies for thriving with ADHD.

Our Youth Mentoring Programme provides one-on-one and small group mentoring, both in and out of school. Youth are connected with a dedicated mentor who meets with them weekly or fortnightly, depending on their individual needs.
