Mentoring Providers
Tuilaepa Youth Mentoring Services (TYMS)
Tuilaepa Youth Mentoring Services(TYMS) is a Pacific-led cultural and relationship-based intervention service that provides mentoring, advocacy and support for primarily Maori and Pacific youth, as well as their families. Our evidence-based mentoring programs address the challenges of disadvantaged youth and individuals, enabling them to re-engage with education and reconnect with family, culture and community.

Overview
TYMS offers services including individual mentoring, transition to adulthood, residential remand learning, continuity of care and the TYMS hub. The programmes include in-school, Moana Tautua, Sporting, and cultural programmes. Additionally, we provide and teach the young person core education, but we also do fitness challenges, life skills workshops, crime prevention, counselling, community connection, etc. We fuse this with our own values and beliefs from our different cultures eg. Samoa, Maori, Tongan, Niuean etc and use "old school" teaching methods to re-engage the young person back into becoming a positive member of the community.
