Workshop overview
A one-day school based workshop for young people who are going to be mentoring a younger age group within their own school eg. Year 13 students mentoring Year 9 students.
Outcomes
For the peer mentoring workshops our aim is to give participants opportunities to learn, engage and reflect on peer mentoring skills, activities and information. Topics covered are:
- An introduction to mentoring – what is a mentor and what are the benefits for a young person of having a mentor?
- Understanding the role and boundaries of a peer mentor
- Communicating effectively in peer mentoring
- Developing resiliency in a young person
Training will also provide effective team-building activities and opportunities to practice giving and receiving feedback in peer mentoring scenarios.
Fee: The cost of this one day workshop is $1,500 plus GST. This covers workshop delivery and materials. Any travel and accommodation costs incurred for the trainer are changed on an actual basis.
