Youth Mentoring - February 2021
09 Feb 21
ngā mihi o te tau hou
We hope that you and your whānau have had a safe and happy summer holiday break. Whilst the 1st January marks the start of a new year it doesn’t mean the challenges we have all been facing as a human race during 2020 have gone away, but hopefully it brings renewed energy and hope for the year ahead.
Here at the NZ Youth Mentoring Network we are currently finalising plans for a new series of workshops to be held around the regions, thanks to further funding from The Tindall Foundation. We will be announcing locations and dates for the year shortly so keep up-to-date via our website and facebook page.
We will also be running 2 public MentorPlus workshops in Auckland during May and November. Organisations who want to train a number of team members are finding it really valuable and cost effective to arrange a special in-house workshop rather than attend the public ones. If you would like to find out more about this or anyother opportunities then please feel free to contact us to discuss. https://www.youthmentoring.org.nz/contact.cfm
Planning for INVOLVE 2021 to be held in Wellington 9th - 11th August is progressing well too. Calls for applications to present are now open and Ara Taiohi is running a series of webiners in the lead-up. Read all about this in the e-news articles below.
We look forward to keeping you up-to-date on mentoring activities throughout the year.

Only 1 month left to apply!
We would love to hear from you and your team. Applications will stay open until 22nd February,
so get yours in now. Click here to go straight to the application form
Who can apply?
Anyone and everyone! If you are doing good mahi either with or for the benefit of rangatahi, then we want to hear from you. Applications are invited from across the sector – from anyone keen to share their insights and learning from practice and research, or expertise in capability building. We aim to crowd source a range of presentations that represent the range of the sector and offer INVOLVE attendees the opportunity to learn new things, gain specific skills, hear about innovative programmes and research, and stretch the horizons of their practice with rangatahi.
We are happy to receive applications that are still in the ideas stage or about projects in progress etc… just give us as much information as you have, and tell us what you hope to share through a presentation.

Can’t wait until August? INVOLVE Webiner Series -starts February 2021
Every Wednesday in February, we will be hosting an INVOLVE-style webinar set to help you learn, grow, and connect. These hour-long sessions will be informative and engaging ways for you to hear about different mahi happening in the sector, extend your knowledge or practice, and find connection with others tuning in.
